I was kinda dreading this match, against the top of the league player and had an awful few days practising. Didn’t start particularly well either, but did have one or two darts at a double in the first three legs. I played an absolute blinder to win the fifth leg to salvage some pride, but my opponent was far too strong for me and took the match on his throw, 5-1.
Posted some of my best numbers too in this match. I’ve not been playing that badly to be fair, and my average is slowly climbing up into the high 40s. I just need to be able to practice for longer periods without my back hurting. I’m feeling okay after today’s match, so fingers crossed!
Two no shows for the last two matches, although we have flexibility when we play I’m not spending too much time chasing them for a game when there’s no response at all.
This evening started okay, held my throw in 30 darts to win the opening leg and had chances to win the next two too.
And then it fell apart. I remember plenty of 7s and 11s, sometimes a 30!
Halfway through the sixth leg, I remembered I had been practising following through fully with palm down and pointing straight at the 20 and realised I had stopped doing this completely. Things got a little better after that but the damage was done and my opponent rightly won 5-1.
